“This Is Not a Burial, It\u2019s a Resurrection” the third feature film by director Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese arrives in French cinemas this 28th July 2021. A first for a film from Lesotho.<\/span><\/span> <\/strong> <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection<\/strong>” directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese<\/span> will be released in French cinemas this Thursday 28 July with a different and rather confusing title: The Indomitable Spring Fire.<\/span> The film’s distribution company chose to translate the title of the film into French, distorting and diluting the strength that the original title gave to the film.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

However, French audiences will be able to discover this film, which is inspired by the story of the director’s grandmother. The South African-produced film tells the story of 80-year-old Mantoa, the oldest woman in a small village nestled in the mountains of Lesotho. When the construction of a dam threatens to submerge the valley, Mantoa decides to defend its spiritual heritage and rekindles the spirit of resistance in her community.<\/p>\n

The film,\u00a0 which was nominated earlier this year for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film<\/a>, was officially released in US cinemas on\u00a0 2 April 2021<\/a> thanks to its American distributor Dekanalog<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
