data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">The Durban Film Mart Institute launched on January 17th a call for projects for the 2022 edition of the Durban Film Mart Shop Content.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"4\">For 13 years now, the <a href=\"https:\/\/filmfreeway.com\/DurbanFilmMartZA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Durban FilmMart<\/a> has been an annual pan-African film financing and co-production event.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"1\" data-number-of-phrases=\"4\">Designed to create partnerships, promote the development and production of African cinema, the DFM was named in UNESCO&#8217;s 2021 report on film trends in Africa as &#8220;the best film market on the continent&#8221;.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"4\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Magdalene Reddy<\/span><\/em>, Managing Director of Durban FilmMart Institute says: \u201c<em>Our vision is to drive the growth of the African film industry through the development of film projects and to network African filmmakers on the continent and around the world [.<\/em><\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"3\" data-number-of-phrases=\"4\"><em>..] The Durban FilmMart is an important platform for African producers to meet and interact with leading film professionals from around the world.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">DFM Content Shop is a project-oriented digital catalog of films, creating opportunities, inclusivity and championing market access for established filmmakers.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"1\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">The selected projects across the African continent were presented exclusively to a select group of international programmers, specialist sales companies, broadcasters, distributors, exhibitors and talent agencies.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">Last year, five projects won one-year distribution deals with TRACE Studios as part of the 2021 DFM Awards.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"3\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">The projects were presented in partnership with the digital catalog and the digital platform for film and film projects INCOPRODUCTION.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"4\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">DFM Content Shop 2021 presented 42 short films, documentaries, fictions and web-series to more than 100 decision makers including <strong>Bendskins<\/strong> by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Narcisse Wandji<\/em><\/span>, From <strong>Patrice to Lumumb<\/strong>a by <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Patrick Kabeya<\/span><\/em> among others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">The DFMI will select African projects or co-produced by successful Africans or in post-production counting for the period 2020-2022 in the categories:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"7\">Fiction feature film with a minimum of 55 minutes (project completed or in advanced post-production stage)<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"7\">Short fiction film under 55 minutes (project completed or in advanced post-production stage)<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"4\" data-number-of-phrases=\"7\">Documentary films in short or feature length (project completed or in advanced post-production stage)<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"6\" data-number-of-phrases=\"7\">Web or TV series (project completed or in advanced post-production stage)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\"
