the aim of breathing new life into Gabonese cinema that <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Pauline Mvele,<\/em> <em>Jean Pierre Moudjalou, J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Tchoua<\/em><\/span> and<em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Aim\u00e9 Akani<\/span><\/em> have decided to set up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/fegaci2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gabonese Film Festival<\/a> which will hold its first edition from February 16 to 19, 2022<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"1\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">in Libreville.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">A way to give a boost to local cinematographic activities which have stagnated since the advent of the Covid19 pandemic, but also a way to connect the older generation of Gabonese filmmakers with the new generation.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"3\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">The goal is to <em>&#8220;do something for the radiation of Gabonese cinema&#8221;<\/em> according to director <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Pauline Mvele<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"4\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">It is therefore a question of making an inventory of Gabonese cinema (which has existed for almost 50 years) and of creating a bridge of exchange between the different generations of filmmakers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">This year the festival will only focus on fiction short and feature films.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"1\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">Series and documentaries will make their debut next year.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">A total of 7 films will be screened as part of this festival at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.institutfrancais-gabon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Fran\u00e7ais de Libreville<\/a>.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"3\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">There are therefore three feature films: <strong>Les Couilles de l\u2019\u00c9l\u00e9phant<\/strong> (2002) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Henri Joseph Koumba<\/em><\/span>, <strong>Dol\u00ea<\/strong> (2000) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Imunga Ivanga<\/em><\/span>, <strong>Le plan<\/strong> (2012) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>John Franck Ondo<\/em><\/span> and <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Saturnin Ayenouet<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"4\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">And four short films: <strong>MOO-1<\/strong> (2017) and <strong>Assang Mefa<\/strong> (2017) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Frank Onouviet,<\/em><\/span> <strong>Makika Contre l&#8217;Humanit\u00e9<\/strong> (2018) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Marco Tchico<\/em><\/span>, <strong>Le Tchatcheur<\/strong> (2013) by <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Pauline Nkoulou<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"1\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">A special round table is also on the program.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"2\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">It will have as subject of debate, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Gabonese cinema seen by women filmmakers<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"3\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">A round table which will see the participation of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Pauline Mvele<\/em><\/span> (moderator), <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Marl\u00e8ne Alen<\/em><\/span> (director), <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aicha Yamav<\/span><\/em> (actress), <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Jeanneton Aguero Godjout<\/em><\/span> (editor), <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Arlette Gombomoye<\/em><\/span> (producer), <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Sarah Dolatabadi<\/em><\/span> (director \/ visual artist).<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"fr\" data-phrase-index=\"4\" data-number-of-phrases=\"5\">The festival will end on February 19 with the screening of the film<strong> Ngombi, La Cour du Roi<\/strong> by <em>Am\u00e9d\u00e9e Pac\u00f4me
