A plus for the movie industry in Cameroon with the new English movie : Where I come from. Its long awaited grande premiere will be held today 22nd January 2020 at Canal Olympia Bessengué in Douala.
A movie title which is very intriguing for many cinema lovers. You have been wondering about your origins ? I think you might also discover where you come from during the premiering of this movie in Douala. Where I come from is a movie written and produced by Tesse Eseme and directed by Takong Delvis in association with great film actors like Anurin Nwnembom, Vugah Samson, Lovert Lambe and Faith Fidel in the main role.
If the movie title leaves you thoughtful, well, you will be amazed by the synopsis of this film. It tells the story of Mambi, a little girl raised by a widower and a gambling addict. At a tender age she has the responsibility of helping this father of hers pay off his unending debts, which she does! She also has to keep an eye on her drunkard of a neighbor. Life has been her school and hardship her teachers. Education eventually becomes the center of their conflict. Will Mambi’s father become a better man? Will the little girl become happier? Will the drunkard change to become a better example of the society?
At the origins of the story of this movie, the chilhood of Tesse Eseme. She looked deep in her years back when she lived with her father where gambling was common in her neighborhood. Sometime later she had met a gambling addict as immediately, she wondered if her life will be something else if her father was also an addict to games.
In the main role of this movie we found Faith Fidel. Eleven years old actress gradually deploys her big talent into the cameroonian film industry. She is amongt the best actress in Cameroon today, where she won during the last Ecrans Noirs Films Festival the prize of th best cameroonian female actress. She recently won the award for Best Actress in a Feature Drama at the I will tell International Film Festival for her role in the movie The Fisherman’s Diary.
The movie will be premiering at Canal Olympia Bessengue this friday 22nd of January 2021 and tickets range from 5000 FCFA to 25000 FCFA. The movie has no release date in others cities of Cameroon but hop the the team behind the movie is working on it.
