The 27th edition of the Écran Noirs festival ended in Yaoundé last Saturday with the award ceremony for the winners of the different categories. Like last year, a Cameroonian film, “Mon Père, le Diable” by Ellie Foumbi, won the festival’s biggest award: The Golden Screen.
After 8 days of intense activities, the 27th edition of the Écrans Noirs festival ended with the traditional closing ceremony at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. A ceremony during which several awards are given to the most deserving films and actors. Some fifty films (fiction, documentaries, series) were in the running for these awards. Before arriving there these films were broadcast at the French Institute of Yaoundé and at the Salle Sita bella. Screenings appreciated by the public and filmmakers.
We have compiled for you all the winners of this edition of the Festival Écrans Noirs which paid tribute to the filmmaker Sembène Ousmane.
