The International 1st Film Week (Yarha) is back for a 7th edition. we have on the agenda, 34 films which the public will have the opportunity to watch from 15 to 22 November 2020 in Yaounde.
First feature films are always a singular experience for Filmmakers, Producers and Actors alike, as they mark the beginning or not of a cinematographic career. The Association Reviv’art, led by its Promoter Sylvie Nwet has chosen to highlight these first films that are often full of stories and anecdotes related to their making. This has been done by organising, since 7 years in Yaounde, the International 1st Film Week: Yarha.
For this 7th edition, which will take place from 15 to 22 November 2020 under the theme “Cinema at the Service of Development”, 34 films were selected in 4 categories: feature films, documentaries, short films and Panorama. Among the most awaited films we have; Innocent(e) by Frank Lea Malle, Enterrés by Françoise Ellong, Atlantique by Mati Diop, Papicha by Mounia Meddour, Adam by Maryam Touzani in the feature film category; Le Messu by Laure Kamga, Kanou by Leonce Soura Faycal in the documentary category.
The Festival will start on 15 November 2020 with an Opening Ceremony at the Yaounde City Hall and will end with a Closing Ceremony on 22 November at the same venue with the Awards Ceremony. Apart from the screenings, several other activities are on the schedule: screenings for children, training workshop, conferences.
