Cameroon will be represented once again at the Sotigui Awards. After Virginie Ehana and Blanche Bana in 2020, it is the turn of 4 new figures from the Cameroonian cinematographic universe to participate in the race for the Sotigui Awards 2021.
On September 04, l’Académie des Sotigui unveiled the list of nominees for the 6th edition of the Sotigui Awards which will be held from November 11 to 13, 2021 in Ouagadougou. Alongst the thrity and more actresses and actors nominated in 16 categories, 4 are from Cameroon. Well-deserved nominations for 4 actors who have left their marks over the years on the Cameroonian and now African public. Emy Dany Bassong

Eshu Tamwa
He is a key figure in the Cameroonian audiovisual and cinematographic landscape. Already well known for its appearances in many Cameroonian series and films, the Madame Monsieur series have help to establish its notoriety with the local and international public. Central character very appreciated in the 2 seasons of this series directed and produced by Ebénezer Kepombia (better known under the name of Mitoumba), it is quite logical that Eshu finds himself in the category of best male interpretation in a TV series.
Faith Fidel
She is certainly the revelation of the year 2020 in Cameroon thanks to her role of ” Ekah ” in the film The Fisherman’s Diary directed by Enah Jonhscott. A social drama that has won almost all the prizes during the Ecrans Noirs 2020 festival and which has traveled to over thirty festivals around the world before being bought by the giant Netflix. His remarkable performance in this film surely marked the members of the Académie des Sotigui, hence his nomination in the Best African Promising Actor category.
Merveille Akamba
Apart from these 4 main nominations, Cameroon is also found in two general categories: the Sotigui of the African public (with Emy Dany Bassong, Eshu Tamwa and Merveille Akamba) and the Golden Sotigui with Merveille Akamba. Good luck to all of the nominees!
