ShareTweetShareShare

The Cameroonian actress is in the running for 3 awards at the 5th edition of the Sotigui Awards which will take place in November 2020.

From 12 to 14 November 2020, the 5th edition of the Sotigui Awards will be held in Ouagadougou. A ceremony that rewards the best actors and actresses from the continent and its diaspora. This year several new faces have integrated the lists of nominated actors and in the race for the awards.

Virginie Ehana is one of these new faces who are joining the elite of African cinema. Nominated in three categories, Audience award, Best Actress on the Continent, Best Actress in Central Africa, she will represent Cameroon alongside actress Blanche Bana during this prestigious ceremony.

At the origin of this appointment, the role of agent Mbuntcha, which she plays in the Cameroonian film Innocent(e) by Frank Thierry Lea Malle. In this film, Virginie Ehana plays a strong woman, a gendarme, a wife and a mother proud of her convictions and who will stop at nothing to uphold the law. she must elucidate a case of double attempted homicide much more complex than it appears. A role tailor-made for this 30-year-old actress, who gives us an effective interpretation.

With this first major role in a feature film, Virginie Ehana manages to attract attention and wins this triple nomination at the Sotigui Awards. It is the crowning of several years of work for this young lady who began her career as a film actress in 2016 in the short film Mes Vampires by Frank Thierry Lea Malle.
