After the great success of his Tundu Wundu series, a thrilling political thriller, the Senegalese director Abdoulahad Wone offers us a new series diametrically opposite to the previous one. With Dérapages, the Senegalese filmmaker has decided to plunge into the world of romantic drama with a soap opera in novelas mode by injecting Senegalese identity into it. A change of course which was able to convince not only the project partners – Francophonie, Itv (local television), Fopica – and which manages to attract a very good audience.
Derapages is the story of Aby interpreted by Kadia Sall, a 35 year old woman who meets a predatory boy (Peter Salinger) younger than her and who will spoil and who will come to completely change her life. Throughout the 26 episodes the first season of this series lasts, the viewer is embroiled in a story of intertwining feelings, love, betrayal.
With a careful realization, the series, which comes to expand the already growing offer of series offered by Senegalese producers, has set its sights on the female side because it is the primary target of this new project as revealed by the director in an interview granted to our colleagues in Le Quotidien.
