On March 06, the director’s last film, Peter Sedufia, was released with great fanfare.
If you saw KETEKE, you must have had a good time of cinema. This romantic and comic road movie carried by two extraordinary actors Adjetey Anang and Lydia Forson, and produced effectively by the Ghanaian Peter Sedufia, was a great success in 2019. First in Ghana in his country of origin then in Africa and in the world by its selection in many festivals and finally by its entry in the Netflix catalog in 2020.
On March 6 at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra, Peter Sedufia presented his new film, Aloe Vera, to the public. A first which attracted a large world to discover this film and already made you want from the first images unveiled during the communication period. A warm and touching film which evokes, in a light and poignant style specific to the director, the question of differences and cohabitation in society.
Aloe Vera is the love story between a man Benjamin Adalatey and a woman Ngozi Viola Adikwu belonging to two communities (Aloe and Vera) who fall in love and have to get rid of all the prejudices that exist between the two communities that live yet side by side. In a colorful universe very close to that of the American filmmaker Wes Anderson, Peter, also the screenwriter of the film, gives us a magnificent love story as we like. In this post covid period it is definitely a film to watch.
The film was a great public success in Ghana, hopefully it will conquer African cinemas and its diverse audience.
