The Cameroonian Vod platform Wouri TV and the pan-African television Bblack Africa are joining forces to create a joint program for the distribution of movies.
The announcement of this unique collaboration was made on social media by the production manager of Bblack Africa channel, Hervé Moukoko. The pan-African channel and the Cameroonian Vod platform, Wouri TV, are pooling their efforts to create a program that will provide an additional distribution channel for films produced and distributed by Wouri TV. This program will be called Bblack Movie.
This collaboration will make help to highlight many African productions and talents.
More concretely, this partnership will enable Wouri TV, which already enjoys a strong connection with the Cameroonian public and part of the Diaspora, to increase the audience for its productions. The broadcast of the productions of this Vod platform on the pan-African channel will make it possible to reach an even wider audience. According to Hervé Moukoko, “this collaboration will make help to highlight many African productions and talents. Television remains a powerful medium which brings a certain prestige to productions”. This program, which only concerns feature films and series, will also make it possible to communicate on new Wouri TV releases by broadcasting trailers and interviews with the authors and actors of these projects.
Just two days after the announcement of this partnership, the first film to be released as part of this collaboration has also been unveiled : Rebirth co-directed by the late Sergeo Marcello and Brice Fansi and produced by Chelsy Suzy.
It only remains to hope that this initiative will continue and that several other initiatives going in the same direction, of the promotion of cinema made in Africa, will see the light of day.
