The 2020 cinematographic season ends in a positive way for Cameroonian Filmmakers. In addition to the many film releases, several Filmmakers will be honored by the government of Cameroon, which will award them with medals. A decision ordered by the Cameroonian Head of State and which will take effect on Friday 27 November 2020 at the esplanade of the Yaounde National Museum from 11 a.m. during an official ceremony. According to information received by our editorial staff, several Artists and Men of culture will receive the honors during this ceremony. As far as Filmmakers are concerned,seven of them will receive medals for their tireless work for the advancement of Cameroonian cinema.
Jean Pierre Bekolo
He is a Filmmaker who is no longer presented on the African and even international scene. He is the Director of the film Quartier Mozart released in 1992, which has become both a classic and a cult film in Cameroonian cinematography. A committed Filmmaker, through his works (Les Saignantes, Naked Reality, The President, Miraculous Weapons) and his political stances, he is one of those Filmmakers who have always wanted to deconstruct the conventional filmmaking scheme by offering other creative approaches. This medal which was to be awarded to him in 2019 will be the national recognition for his 28-year career. He had already won the Prince Clauss prize in 2015 and the Yennenga silver stallion in 2009 at Fespaco. During this ceremony, It will be made during this ceremony Officer of the Order of Valor.

Vice President of the Cameroon Film Industry (CFI), Brenda Elung is a Producer and Actress, she is known for her role in the Samba series (2017) broadcast on CRTV and other television channels. Founder of Omega One Entertainment, she has produced and distributed several films: Triangle of Tears, Decoded, My Gallery. After more than 10 years of career and numerous awards she will receive the title of Knight of the Order of Valor.

He is the Head of the DC Pictures Company. He has 3 feature films to his credit: Kiss of Death (2016) starring actress Laura Onyama; Tenacity (2018) and Musa (2020). He will receive the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite.
