On the initiative of the Tunisian Cnci, the second edition of the South-South cooperation project for professionals in African cinema will be held from June 2020 to February 2021.
Bringing together film professionals from the continent and giving them the tools and material means to develop their films while preserving their African identity and their rights to exploit them, this is the mission of the Sentoo program. At the initiative of the Tunisian national cinema and image center (Cnci), the Sentoo project is a south-south cooperation program which aims to support the creation and production of films on the continent. The initiative also aims to empower film professionals in matters of funding and the exploitation of their works.
Around the Tunisian Cnci, 6 other cinematography centers from African countries joined the projects as well as some funding organizations such as the Francophonie. In total, the Sentoo project brings together 7 countries, namely: Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo and Ivory Coast. From its 7 countries, 7 authors will be selected who will go through several stages, namely: 2 writing residencies and 1 production and co-production workshop. Each selected project will receive a grant of 5000 euros and will benefit from tailor-made supervision by professionals in the field on the continent.
