EPICES is the name of the first film school in Guadeloupe. A school founded by Tony Coco-Viloin and sponsored by the Burkinabe director Gaston Kaboré.
From 09 to 16 January 2021, EPICES (Ecole Préparatoire aux Initiatives Cinématographiques) organised an inaugural seminar at the Sonis Cultural Centre in Guadeloupe to make itself better known and to popularise its training programme for all those wishing to learn the film industry. This is the first film school in the country founded by Tony Coco-Viloin , who left his post at the Regional Council of Guadeloupe in June 2020 to devote himself to this new mission: that of providing the archipelago with executives in audiovisual production.
This project was made possible thanks to the determination of Tony Coco-Viloin, who studied at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques (IDHEC) in Paris, the International Script School in Miami, the Lódz School in Poland, but above all thanks to the financial support of Pôle Emploi Guadeloupe and Canal+.The school is sponsored by the Burkinabe director Gaston Kaboré. The school is attracting a great deal of interest since 850 people have registered to follow the various training courses offered by this training centre.
