The kick-off of the 7th edition of the International 1st Film Week, Yarha, was given this Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Yaounde City Hall during a sober but glamorous opening ceremony. The jury of this edition was also presented as well as the Sponsor of the event who is none other than the Cameroonian actress and producer Syndy Emade.
A few days ago the official selection of the Yarha festival was announced, 34 films chosen by the festival’s organisation and that the public of Yaounde will have the opportunity to go and discover in the various screening rooms for this edition. Besides these film screenings (fictions and documentaries), several other activities are on the agenda: training, conferences, workshops, etc.
This November 15, 2020, at the the Yaounde city hall auditorium, the festival was officially opened by the Actress and Producer Syndy Emade, Sponsor of this edition, in the presence of several personalities from the government and the diplomatic corps. In her opening speech, the festival Promoter Sylvie Nwet reminded everyone of the special nature of this edition which takes place in a difficult health climate due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The evening ended with the screening of the Cameroonian film Innocent (e) by Frank Thierry Lea Malle.
