The traveling short film programme, Quartier Lointains, will be shown for the first time in Majestic cinemas in Ivory Coast from 29 January to 4 February 2021. A collection of short films called Afrofuturistik.
Quartiers Lointains, created in 2013 by film critic and distributor Claire Diao, broadcasts every year in France, the United States and several African countries short films from various places around the world. A way highlight the work of several new talents based both in Europe and Africa. This program is sponsored by film personalities such as Alain Gomis or Lucien Jean-Baptiste.
For this 6th season called AFROFUTURISTIK and sponsored by Senegalese Designer Selly Raby Kane, 5 Africans science fiction short films are available to the public at the Majestic Ivoire and Majestic Sococe cinemas in Abidjan from 29 January to 4 February, 2021. All shorts films in the collection have already won prizes at festivals around the world.

Hello Rain from nigerian C.J. Obasi (Mention spéciale du Fantasia International Film Festival)
Zombies from Congolese Baloji (Principal Prize – Oberhausen 2019)
This collection of short films benefited from two premieres in November 2020 in Brazil (Mostra de cine africanos) and Madagascar (Rencontres du Film Court), the program is currently being broadcast in Ivory Coast on the sidelines of the Africa 2020 program.
