The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) starts its 5th edition today in the city of Buea. A cinema appointment that will be marked by many articulations.
The city of Buea in the south-west of Cameroon is hosting the 5th edition of theCameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) from today until April 30, 2022. The event organized by producer Agbor Gilbert has established itself over the years as an unmissable event in the Cameroonian cinematographic landscape because it is a meeting point between local and international filmmakers. And as in previous editions, the festival, in addition to film screenings and the competition, integrates moments of festivities and professional moments in an very specific approach.
About fifty films from all over the world have been selected for this edition, whose muse is none other than the model and Miss Cameroon 2013, Valery Ayena. Films which are classified in 5 categories: Cameroonian short films, international short films, Cameroonian feature films, documentaries, international feature films. Two films will be honored during the opening and closing of the festival at the Mountain Hotel in Buea: Hidden Dreams by Ngang Romanus and Bakassi, the lost homeland by Bakia T. Thomas.
Alongside film screenings, the festival, which benefits from significant support from UNESCO and the UNDP, is offering eight Master Classes this year (Direction of Photography, Actors, Screenwriting, etc.) led by seasoned professionals like Anurin Nwunembom, Laurence Neba, Rene Etta, Stephanie Tum…
Who says festival says festivities, and CAMIFF is certainly one of the film festivals in Cameroon that makes it a point of honor to organize gigantic festive evenings. This year, festival-goers and other guests will have the opportunity to experience three big parties: The Cultural Night (April 27, 2022), The Mask Gala (April 28, 2022) and the All White Party (April 29, 2022).
